The buzzing streets of Cairo with the Nile flowing through offer an experience of a great metropolis located amidst more than five thousand years of continuous civilization since the Great Pyramids of Giza were built. Cairo, labelled as the city of a thousand minarets, holds treasures of architecture through over a thousand years of Islamic Medieval civilization. In Luxor, you will visit the largest Temple Complex in the World of Karnak and get lost amidst its great columns, experience a local rural culinary experience and venture into the Sahara desert on a Quad bike safari. During this trip you will be staying at the most luxurious of Egypt's hotels starting with the historical and luxurious Mena House hotel at the foot of the Pyramids and the Movenpick Luxor hotel situated on Crocodile Island in Luxor, with the best sunset view in the city.

Day 1

Arrival and welcome dinner

Welcome to Egypt. Upon arrival, transfer from Cairo international airport to the hotel for check in. Later that night, treat yourself to a dinner with a view of the three Pyramids of Giza in the background on a rooftop close by.

Day 2

Cairo full day tour

Start your day off with a wellness activity at the hotel and then depart for a mesmerizing tour of the three Pyramids, Sphinx, and last standing 7th wonder of the ancient world. During your visit, you will have the chance to enter the Pyramids and ride a camel for an additional cost. After your visit, we will visit the famous Egyptian Museum, home to an extensive number of artifacts. You will also have the option of spending time at the hotel to enjoy the amenities should you wish to forgo your visit to the Egyptian Museum. After returning from the Egyptian Museum and freshening up, head to dinner for an evening at the 14th century souk of Khan El-Khalili. The bustling, maze-like corridors offer a unique shopping experience with everything from silverware to spices and handicrafts.

Day 3

Flight to Luxor and tour of Karnak & Luxor Temples

Take an early flight to Luxor and visit Karnak Temple’s sanctuary and marvel at the expanse of the largest religious building in the world to date. Stretching over 200 acres, this complex with its many temples and vast sacred lake, was a central place of pilgrimage for thousands of years. After a break at the hotel, visit Luxor Temple and travel through history as you see layers of influence from King Amenhotep III and Alexander the Great. Stroll through the majestic Avenue of Sphinxes, and pause at the red-granite Obelisk whose twin stands in Place de la Concorde, Paris.

Day 4

Valley of the Kings & Hatshepsut Temple

Start your morning off with breakfast and a wellness activity overlooking the Nile River. Visit the Valley of Kings, where the famous treasures of King Tut were found, and the royal tombs of over 60 royals are tucked away among the mountains. The Temple of Queen Hatshepsut offers a feminist side of history, with grace and power in its architecture, and walls that recount the years of her reign. Stop at the Twin Colossi of King Amenhotep III, which are not only impressive to behold, but have a haunting history as an acoustic wonder of the ancient world.

Day 5

Quad bike safari in the Western Desert

On this safari, you’ll leave the Nile valley behind to immerse yourself in the desert on a quad bike. Here you will hear the winds of the crisp landscape and see the golden waves of sand as they twist and curve. After this desert experience, you will ride to a Bedouin camp to taste the authentic food and fragrant mint tea of the locals. Listen to the stories about their cultures and way of living as you enjoy a traditional performance before returning to the hotel. Upon returning, spend the rest of the evening at leisure or take part in an optional wellness activity.

Day 6

Optional day tour to Dendera temple & the spiritual center of Abydos

Start your morning off with a wellness activity and breakfast. Enjoy a leisure day to relax and connect with fellow travelers as you take in this beautiful city of Luxor on the Nile River. You can also enjoy an optional tour to Edfu Temple at an extra cost and explore its magnificent architecture. In the evening you will take part in a Nubian dance party and cultural show.

Day 7

A rural and culinary experience

Have a local “feteer” breakfast and tea and spend your morning with farmers in rural Egypt, learning about the ancient methods of farming that have been used for thousands of years. Collect the vegetables that will be used for lunch and join the kitchen with the Amon hotel team to prepare an organic meal. Upon return to the hotel, enjoy a wellness activity with your fellow travelers before dinner.

Luxor - Cairo

After breakfast, take a flight to Cairo International Airport and transfer to the hotel. Later that night, treat yourself to a dinner on the Nile Pharaoh. Cairo’s luxurious cruising restaurant offers live entertainment and a view of the twinkling skyline after sunset. Your meal comes with an oriental show of belly dancing and whirling dervishes, all offering a taste of Egyptian culture and a night to remember.
